Disocactus "Martianus"[ Red-Rat's Tail ] Species [ PLANT IN BLOOMING ]
Disocactus "Martianus" Hybrid is commonly known as "Red- Rat's Tail". It is a species of cactaceae and is the most cultivated species in the genious. D. Martianus is often grown in an ornamental pot. "Red Rat's Tail" originates in Mexicao in the Hildago dry forest habitat. This plant seems to be rare is seldom collected in the field. It is easy to grow and care for. Plant is suitable for a greenhouse, indoor and outdoor areas. They should be grown in brightlight and potting mix. Flowers have a small bloomer, approximately 2" across wide open. It's flowers last 4-5 days long than most other hybrids. Fowers bloom in spring to late summer. D. Martianus growth well in a hanging basket. It requires watering once a week from March to October and November to February let plant rest but make sure soil not completely dry out.
